On this episode of Geek Week I once again interview Cecil Watson, the primary developer behind LinHES. LinHES is a Linux distribution that includes everything you need to turn a computer into a MythTV media center device. LinHES used to be called Knoppmyth, however with the 6th release of the software there is no longer any association with Knoppix and as a result the distribution has been renamed LinHES. There are many other new features to LinHES and I discuss those with Cecil on the show. If you've been considering an alternative to TiVo, or are just looking to have better control of your TV and media experience listen to the show and consider giving LinHES a try.
To provide feedback to Geek Week and A Geek and His wife, give a call to 206-203-5613.
For more information on LinHES including links to download the distribution head on over to http://www.mysettopbox.tv. If you're looking for more general information about the capabilities of Mythtv, you can find that at http://www.mythtv.org.
The new intro to this episode of Geek Week is Geekquilibrium by Dr.Awkward.
